An Antidote to Perfectionism

An Antidote to Perfectionism

Introducing Emma Bentley's talk from our Cambridge event a few weeks ago! Emma spoke about perfectionism, and how all our efforts to be successful or perfect are made invalid in light of who God is, and what Jesus did for us.

This is so important to remember, especially as lots of you will be preparing for exams, thinking about your future plans, and perhaps needing to surrender some hopes and dreams into the faithful hands of God. Enjoy x

1. There is a plan for you.

Jeremiah 29:11 says "For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

2. Don't worry.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation by prayer and petition, present your requests to God." (Philippians 4:6)

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)

3.  Remember the big picture.

Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us that we are "serving the Lord Christ" in everything we do.

4.  Remember the greatest commandment.

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind." (Luke 10:27)
