Walking In Wisdom: Living With Direction

Keeping my eyes on Jesus and His promises when I'm uncertain and unsure is one of the most challenging parts of being a Christian; yet He never fails. This wonderful post helps to shape our lives around Christ. N x

“LET YOUR EYES LOOK DIRECTLY FORWARD, AND YOUR GAZE BE STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU. PONDER THE PATH OF YOUR FEET, THEN ALL YOUR WAYS WILL BE SURE. DO NOT SWERVE TO THE RIGHTS OR TO THE LEFT; TURN YOUR FOOT AWAY FROM EVIL.

(PROVERBS 4:25-27)

I love clinging to the treasures found within these verses. They provide such a reminder and encouragement to keep persevering and pressing on in our walk with the Lord. It is so easy to get distracted with copious worries and the busyness of life that we lose sight of our most important priority - our relationship with Jesus.

It is through our time spent in His word that we will grow and delight in Him as we saturate our minds in His truths. I have found that it is when I take my eyes off Jesus and fail to spend quality time in prayer, that I start to stumble and fall.

I begin to live life for my own desires instead of resting and leaving it in the Hands of the One who is sovereign over all. He promises to go before you and guide your steps to “watch over your life and keep you from all harm” (Psalm 121).

So I want to encourage you to put on your armour of God, pursue wisdom and holiness, and flee from every distraction that pulls you away from whole hearted obedience to Jesus.

We are called to keep Jesus as our one true treasure and live lives completely surrendered to Him. Look to Jesus to shape your plans in life.

A LIFE RADICALLY DEVOTED TO JESUS IS FAR BETTER THAN ANYTHING THIS WORLD OFFERS. HE IS THE TREASURE WORTH LIVING FOR.
