MP Carols: Hark The Herald Angels Sing
Listen as you read: We love this version from Paul Baloche - enjoy!
We’ve heard it many times - Jesus came to save us. Glory to the newborn King. He is the light of the world.
But have you ever thought what it really means for someone to be the light of the world? It constantly feels like there are terrible things happening, so much so that the world can become a pretty dark place to live in. So, does that mean we’re fighting this alone?
“No, in all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Romans 8:37
Jesus’ might overcomes any type of challenge, so his light pierces through the bleak times and gives us the hope of a beautiful life with Him. Therefore, it’s safe to eliminate our fear of the dark and let Jesus take control!
So life is perfect once I give my life to Christ? Most definitely not, I’m afraid! We’re not promised an immaculate life, but what we are promised is grace. When the carol states, “light and life to all He brings”, it highlights the everlasting life that we are granted through God's saving gift of Jesus.
It still overwhelms me that, despite all my flaws, Jesus would still open His arms and welcome me home. I don’t need to live by a rigid law of rituals or earn His love in any other way - no matter what I do, He still loves me, He still loves all of us. This is amazing grace.
Upon hearing this good news, the carol asks us to “join the triumph of the skies” - so why don’t we? We’ve got a pretty good reason to! __________________________________________________________________
