Love Came Down: Restoring Peace
Every day, I try to reflect upon how much Jesus has done for me, and this year in particular has been full of exciting changes. I have moved schools, started new subjects and made great new friends!
For me, Christmas especially is a time where I feel extremely grateful and overjoyed for all that Jesus has done for me. As well as having amazing and special moments in my life recently, there have also been hard and challenging times; as expected! But Jesus has helped me along the way.
In the Bible, it says that Jesus is the prince of peace. This is a verse which is very important to me as whenever sad moments come my way, I just remind myself of this: even though I am a sinner, Jesus' love continuously comes down on me.
Christmas Day is celebrated because it's when Jesus came down to earth to be born. We see here what an amazing act of God it was and how terrifying it was for Mary to begin with:
'But the angel said to her " do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favour with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and be called the most high." (Luke 1:30-33)
But why did Jesus come? He came to restore peace and he continuously restores peace in me whenever I go through tough patches in my life and in my journey as a Christian.
This is because although we are sinners, Jesus is our King and he loves us. Let's keep spreading this news about Jesus and his peace to everyone we meet today.
'When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what has been told about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the Shepherds had said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.' (Luke 2:17-20)
